As I mentioned in my last post I was not really feeding the two new subjects to see how they would do just using up the nutrients within the soil. On Feb. 11th I did my first real feeding which was 7ml ProGrow, 5ml Liquid Karma and 5ml MagCal. This was all mixed in a gallon of filtered water. I also made up a batch of foliar feeding solution which consists of 3ml Liquid Karma, 3ml AquaShild per one gallon. On the 8th of Feb. I measured the plants at 1′-5″ for Jack-the-ripper(JR) and 1′-3″ for bubble gum(BG). On the 15th of Feb. JR was at 1′-10″ and BG was 1′-8″. It was also on this date that I moved my two clones of JR and BG to 9″ pots and tossed the two seeds that showed no signs of growth. My #2 is doing just fine and as of Feb. 19th is showing signs of roots coming out the bottom. My next move will be to place this 5″ seedling into dirt.
Due to my brush with almost killing my last plant due to over feeding it, I decided to purchase a PPM/EC/CF meter. After extensive research I went with the Truncheon Meter EC-PPM.
I have to admit that it works very well and is as easy as all the reviews said. Now currently I have no way of testing the calibration of the meter to see how accurate it is. But what I did find that even with cutting the dose in half from what the side of the Botanic Care products say to use I found myself between 1400-1680 PPM or 2.0-2.4 EC. In my readings about PPM’s for cannabis, it should be closer to 1200 or less. So I added additional water to bring the PPM’s down to between 980-1120. The recipe that I used was 2.5ml MagCal, 15ml ProGrow and 5ml Liquid Karma in one gallon of filtered water that has a PPM of 25-30.
I have complied my findings on two other pages, Feeding and PPM/EC.
